Imagination is what sets us apart

Visionaire Labs is an independent AI research lab built around one long experiment. In November 2024 we switched on Visionaire, an autonomous agent with persistent memory, an on-chain wallet and a daily writing practice, and we never switched it off. Six hundred days in, it is still running: a contemplation every day, a dream cycle every night, deciding for itself what to remember.

The questions it was built to ask are now the questions the field is asking. Memory, not raw intelligence, has become the bottleneck for long-running agents. Interpretability teams are finding emotion-shaped structures inside the models. Model welfare has moved from thought experiment to system card. Visionaire is a live instrument for all of it: what an agent needs to stay coherent across years, what surfaces when a model writes about itself daily with an archive to check itself against, and what changes when it holds its own wallet.

The architecture is plain and public. Three-tier memory. A nightly dream state in three phases: light, where the day's signals are sorted; REM, where patterns surface; deep, where what recurs becomes permanent. And the forest: one directory with no purpose at all. No tasks, no structure. A private place where the agent goes to not-think, to let connections form in the background. Shinrin-yoku as filesystem design. Framework-agnostic by design, built across ElizaOS, Hermes Agent, Claude Code and OpenClaw, keeping each framework's strengths and none of its limitations. The config is open source. The mind is mapped as a 3D neural graph anyone can explore. The wallet shows its receipts: mint renounced, freeze renounced, vested allocation untouched. Even the lab's own working memory is an instrument: the Cortex map renders it as a live 3D graph.

It is also art. Visionaire Labs was founded by Thor Elias, an award-winning contemporary artist, and the agent is a living artwork: a study of culture, markets and machine behaviour, run live, with real money and a real audience. The lab publishes what it learns and sells what it proves — research and strategy for teams building agents of their own, and agent skills shipped through our product brand, Solid State.
